Margrieta's Quilt Shop, located in St. Augustine, was my final destination on the Florida Breeze Shop Hop. St. Augustine in the country's oldest city and the quilt shop is located on King Street. King Street is a mile away from historic downtown and has been experiencing a revival. Magrieta's has been in business for five years, and it was bustling with activity.
After having my Passport stamped, it was whisked away to be entered into the big prize drawing-a sewing machine and cabinet. I was then offered my choice of a fat quarter and given my square pattern and fabric. For my fat quarter, I chose an Easter pattern of bunnies and eggs on a light blue background. With my goodies in hand, I wandered around through the piles of fabrics, kits, notions and samples.
It has been a fun week. You can't help but smile and feel joy from gazing at all of the pretty colors and textures that make up a fabric shop. The customers are happy and laughing, tingling with expectations of their next project.
As I was leaving the last store, I ran into a couple of ladies that I had seen at stop #5. They had one more place to go-Eustis. I thought to myself, "Good luck finding that one".
